One of the founding Directors of Lawtons Solicitors, Stephen handles some of Lawtons’ most challenging cases, with an emphasis on serious Crown Court cases, including sexual offences and defending historic sex offences. A number of recent EncroChat defence cases have required a particular level of expertise & insight.

With an in-depth knowledge of criminal law developed over 25 years, his experience provides a level of reassurance to clients’ he accepts instructions from.

He has dealt with cases at every level, with convictions and sentences being overturned in the Court of Appeal. A former President of the Hertfordshire Law Society, Stephen is well regarded and was invited to assist in the Covid response team for the South East of England, with the committee being headed by a Senior Presiding Judge.
