Nick is a partner in Reed Smith's Transportation Industry Group. He focuses on resolving shipping and international trading disputes in arbitration, court and mediation. He acts for shipowners and operators, charterers and traders on a wide range of shipping and commodity issues, including charterparty, bill of lading and ESG advice. Nick also supports clients in the extractive and LNG sectors on their marketing and transportation needs and has particularly strong connections to the Japan market.
Nick sits on the Executive Committee of the British Maritime Law Association and on the Council of the London Shipping Law Centre. He is a Supporting Member of the London Maritime Arbitrators Association.
Nick lectures widely on the legal aspects of shipping and trade. He is a regular speaker at conferences and delivers tailored workshops for Lloyd's Maritime Academy and to individual clients.
