Information about the specialist
arnondo.chakrabarti@aoshearman.comPractice Areas
Arnondo is Head of our London litigation department. He has over two decades of experience across a wide range of contentious matters, representing clients in complex litigation as well as regulatory, criminal and internal investigations. Arno has particular experience advising household-name financial institutions on banking and finance litigation, group litigation, contractual disputes and disputes involving antitrust issues, frequently leading the coordination of litigation strategy and teams across borders. He also navigates clients through investigations involving the UK Financial Conduct Authority and Serious Fraud Office, with particular experience advising clients on bribery and corruption. Arnondo is one of very few lawyers in the market with expertise in advising on both contentious regulatory proceedings and corporate crime issues.
Arnondo also advises on public law issues and previously practised as a barrister at Matrix Chambers.
Arnondo is recognised as a leading disputes lawyer by legal directories, having been described as one of the best lawyers in the city and absolutely attuned to the tensions in highly emotive contentious matters. Recent feedback notes that he is completely unflappable, highly intelligent, strategically acute, and constantly thinks about his clients and what they need"" (Chambers UK, 2021), and that he is a tough litigator who fights hard for his clients (Legal 500 UK, 2021).
