Information about the specialist
tim.annett@irwinmitchell.comPractice Areas
I am a Partner in the Group Actions Team, based in Sheffield, and deal with product liability claims arising from medical devices and drugs, household appliances, bicycles, and non-medical cosmetic treatments.
I also specialise in medical negligence claims, and cases arising from clinical trials including those brought pursuant to the ABPI compensation guidelines. I have a particular interest in CJD cases arising from contaminated human growth hormone and was a member of various claimants steering committees in the metal-on-metal hip litigation.
Although my focus is on group actions, whether through agreed ADR processes or litigation, I handle many individual product liability cases as well. I am accredited by AvMA as a Clinical Negligence specialist, and by APIL as a Fatal Accidents specialist.
I have experience of statutory inquires (public and private), including the Shipman Inquiry, and the Inquiry relating to former gynaecologist Richard Neale.
Currently, I am representing family core participants in the Thirlwall Inquiry, relating to the crimes committed by Lucy Letby.
