Russell has extensive experience defending individuals at all stages of the extradition process, representing at Westminster Magistrates’ court through the appeals process in the High Court and Supreme Court.

Russell has represented clients whose extradition is sought for the most serious offences by states throughout Europe and worldwide, including extradition requests from the USA, Russia, Paraguay, Brazil and Bermuda. Russell has been instructed in high profile cases involving complex legal arguments, requiring a high level of legal analysis. Russell advises on issues relating to Interpol Red Notices and requests for Mutual Legal Assistance.

Russell’s criminal practice involves representing clients at the police station through to trial. An experienced advocate, regularly appearing in Magistrates’ and Crown Courts around London. Russell assiduously defends in a wide spectrum of offences including murder, sexual offences, firearms, drugs and fraud, and in cases brought by a wide range of prosecuting agencies.

Russell is experienced in Military Law, defending clients at military court centres in the UK and abroad.
