Matthew is a criminal law specialist with 30 years’ experience in major criminal fraud trials and investigations. He handles a wide range of fraud cases, focusing on developing arguments which are designed to stop cases reaching charge or trial.

He is a founding partner of Byrne and Partners and PCB Byrne, Matthew has conducted numerous high-profile, multi-jurisdictional cases – including City fraud, bribery and corruption, tax, money laundering and competition cases. He has successfully defended cases brought by every major prosecuting authority and has developed an increasingly large practice of defending private prosecutions.
