Vanessa is an experienced environmental and ESG lawyer and member of Freshfields’ global Sustainability Leadership Team. She advises clients on a the full range of environmental issues, with extensive experience advising on the increasing regulatory obligations and legal risks concerning ESG, specifically in relation to climate change. She assists clients with building strategies to manage risks and harness opportunities associated with ESG issues, across their corporate governance and reporting arrangements, their M&A activity, and their energy transition projects and investments. She has helped clients navigate and influence the development of environmental and regulatory regimes, particularly with respect to climate change.

Vanessa has experience on a wide scope of energy transition projects, including renewables, carbon-capture and storage and innovative networks, and has internationally recognised expertise in nuclear law. Her wider energy and infrastructure experience includes advising on rail, road, airport, port and oil and gas projects.
