Career

Sion Richards is leader of the Global Disputes Practice at Jones Day which consists of over 200 lawyers in more than 25 offices. Sion has advised clients on numerous complex multijurisdictional investigations and civil litigation with an emphasis on major fraud, asset tracing, and corruption investigations, including contentious insolvency disputes. His recent experience includes advising a listed company in relation to a US$270 million fraud spanning around 30 jurisdictions where he devised a multipronged strategy involving criminal and civil proceedings to achieve significant recoveries. Sion is successfully representing the Commercial Bank of Dubai on its approximately $120 million claim against the Al Sari family and the international enforcement strategy relating to an arbitration award worth over US$1bn.
