Sheroy Zaq is a solicitor in the Public Law and Immigration departments at Duncan Lewis Solicitors. He predominantly acts in public law and civil liberties matters for claimants in cases concerning human rights abuses, unlawful detention, injunctive relief against removal, and challenges to unlawful policies of the Secretary of State for the Home Department. He recently acted as the lead solicitor for 13 LGBTQ Syrian refugees in an international group claim, successfully securing their immediate transfer to the UK. Sheroy previously conducted investigative research in Bulgaria, France and Portugal in order to obtain evidence for use in claims for judicial review before the High Court and the Court of Appeal. Additionally, he represented a core participant in the Grenfell Tower Inquiry
Recently, Sheroy acted as a lead solicitor in the multi-party litigation challenging the Secretary of State for the Home Departments flagship policy of removing asylum seekers to Rwanda. He also successfully acted as the lead solicitor in a challenge to the operation of the Manston House Short-Term Holding Facility, which led to the facility being emptied.
