Career

Mark leads the health & safety/regulatory team in Scotland with nearly 30 years' experience advising clients charged with the most serious offences including culpable homicide and corporate homicide. His work brands all industry sectors. He is regularly on site in the immediate aftermath of incidents where clients have recognised his open and approachable manner and unerring ability to instil calm in sensitive, stressful situations. He navigates clients through the stormy waters of major incidents, regularly achieving outcomes which seemed unlikely, if not impossible, at the outset and has been recognised by all of the major directories for his expertise for more than a decade. He also assists in the management of the casualty team in Aberdeen and is particularly recognised for his expertise in dealing with high value claims arising from the oil and gas industry involving contractual indemnities. Again he has been recognised by all of the major directories for many years with clients describing him as calm and effective and a dynamic and well prepared litigator who knows how to manage sensitive and difficult situations and makes collaborative working enjoyable due to his friendliness and very pleasant personality.
