John has a very broad experience in consumer finance and financial services regulation, with specialisms in mortgages, consumer credit, consumer contracts and insurance. He is ranked by Chambers in Band 2 for consumer finance, a UK-wide ranking. He is a key trusted advisor to Lloyds Banking Group, TSB Bank and Sainsbury's Bank, amongst others. He is head of MFMac's consumer finance team.

John sits on the advisory group assisting the Scottish Law Commission's review of the law relating to heritable securities.

John has completed a number of recent secondments with clients supporting a range of digital banking projects. He is increasingly requested by London and regional firms to provide outsourced financial services regulatory advice.
