Jo is experienced in advising clients in relation to the various means of resolving disputes away from the court, be it through correspondence, face-to-face negotiation or at a formal mediation. Wherever possible she aims to avoid formal litigation, which can be unpredictable and costly for her clients.

In instances when it is either not possible or desirable to avoid court, Jo has experience of robustly advising individuals and companies and guiding them through the litigation procedure. This can involve litigating in the high court or county court, applications to specialist property tribunals, arbitrations, expert determinations or mediation.

Jo regularly advises private clients, covering a range of work including obtaining possession when tenants have breached terms of their lease or Assured Shorthold Tenancy or where they have withheld rent. She regularly advises in relation to nuisance claims, contentious rights of way, boundary disputes, adverse possession and professional negligence.
