Jamie is head of the Human Rights and Public Law Department at Leigh Day. He specialises in judicial review, public law and civil liberties. Jamie represents claimants across a broad range of areas and holding the executive to account. He has particular expertise in planning and environmental law, unlawful detention and corporate accountability. Notable cases include: Binyam Mohamed (Norwich Pharmacal claim for Guantanamo Bay detainee), Corner House & CAAT-v-Director of the SFO (dropping of criminal investigation into a legations of corruption by BAE Systems in Saudi Arabia), CAAT-v-BAE Systems Plc (Norwich Pharmacal claim for anti-arms trade organisation which was victim of spying), EO & Ors-v-SSHD (detention of torture survivors in the UK), Rahmatullah (habeas corpus case for detainee at Bagram airbase in Afghanistan) and Corner House-v-SSTI (seminal case on Protective Costs Orders).
