Darren is an accredited specialist in Clinical Negligence by the Law Society of Scotland. He is a Partner in the Litigation Team and a member of several working groups appointed by the Court to develop the rules/procedures for the progression and settlement of clinical negligence cases.

He has particular expertise in catastrophic birth damage cases and has recovered tens of millions of pounds in compensation to help meet the needs of his clients. He has successfully litigated cases at all levels. He has been involved in some of the highest value and most complex medical negligence cases in Scotland in recent years.

He has been described as one of the best lawyers in this field with a fantastic bank of knowledge. He is regularly invited as a guest speaker for both solicitors and medical experts in all matters relating to clinical negligence. He is a tutor for the Legal Diploma at Edinburgh University and provides a guest seminar to the Medical Law & Ethics Masters course. Darren receives instructions and referrals from solicitors throughout Scotland due to his reputation and expertise in what is a very complex area of the law.
