Rebecca is a partner at the firm. Her practice encompasses all aspects of media law, reputation protection and risk and crisis management including defamation, privacy, blackmail and harassment, digital, cyber and data protection.
Rebeccas clients include UHNWIs and HNW, private and family offices, politicians, academics, entrepreneurs, celebrities, charities, journalists, schools, teachers and high-profile businesspeople. Rebecca regularly undertakes both Claimant and Defendant work at both the pre and post broadcast/publication stages.
Rebecca is highly recommended within the industry having obtained significant damages and settlements, secured numerous apologies, retractions and corrections and obtained the removal of online content in multiple jurisdictions.
Rebecca has a great breadth of experience across her practice areas. She has been at the forefront of significant cases in her field and was the lead Senior Associate in the ground-breaking privacy case PJS v News Group Newspapers Ltd, considered by commentators as the most important privacy law decision of the decade.
Rebecca also regularly advises on the contents and use of Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) and confidentiality and reputation provisions within settlement agreements and other contracts as well as advising on matters concerning data privacy including hacking, data leaks, Right to be Forgotten and online takedown work.
Rebeccas core focus is the protection of clients welfare, reputations and livelihoods. Rebeccas clients frequently require legal advice which works alongside existing strategies. As such her work commonly involves working with in-house and out of the jurisdiction legal teams as well as other third parties such a PR and management agents as part of a wider litigation or reputation protection strategy.
