Marian advises commercial clients on a range of employment law issues, including general day-to-day advisory work, disciplinary and grievance issues, redundancy and restructuring programmes, ESG, diversity and equality matters, IR35 and employment status issues, senior executive contracts and severance arrangements and team moves. Marians clients are predominantly in the financial services sector, including insurance, fintech and regtech businesses. She also advises those in the technology, travel, professional services and healthcare sectors.
Marians particular expertise is in helping clients in the financial services sector manage their HR and regulatory legal risk. She has worked for many years with major international banks, insurers, private equity houses, hedge funds and investment managers. In addition to advising on day to day issues, she advises on the employment law implications and challenges of regulatory regime requirements, particularly in relation to non-financial misconduct, and also supports the employment aspects of internal and external regulatory investigations including the related disciplinary processes. In particular she has advised on issues arising from whistleblowing allegations and from rate fixing related investigations. She is experienced in managing complex and high value litigation, having conducted a number of multi-strand claims for discrimination and whistleblowing, many of which have involved claims brought by claimants still in employment. She is an experienced independent investigator having acted on a range of investigations into alleged employee and director misconduct.
