Information about the specialist
LindaMillband@thompsons.lawPractice Areas
Lindas cases are high value and, consequently, high profile, involving traumatic and life-changing injuries. Unafraid to take on the most difficult and long-running cases, where other law firms have failed, Linda has won multi-million pound awards for both individuals and in class actions up to and including the High Court.
As a result of her successful medical negligence claims, Linda is regularly in the media spotlight appearing in television documentaries and being interviewed by the media, commenting on clinical negligence claims. Linda seeks to gain the maximum compensation for those with spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, limb amputations and the families of fatalities. Linda often negotiates interim payments in long-running cases, to enable her clients to buy property and equipment necessary for their care and quality of life.
Lindas vast experience of the horrific and devastating impact on individuals of medical negligence ensures that she handles cases with an almost clinical precision, but also with empathy and with care. Seen as a champion of the rights of people injured at the hands of the medical profession, Lindas caseload includes those with botched TVT (Tension-Free Vaginal Tape) operations, cerebral palsy, paraplegia, and the misdiagnosis of all types of cancer and meningitis, leading to serious injury or death.
Recently, Linda fought on behalf of hundreds of women who had needless and horrific mastectomies and double mastectomies at the hands of a consultant breast surgeon. Linda acted initially for 70 women, but when word got around that Thompsons Solicitors was handling the case, another 500 came forward.
Following the case, Linda helped spearhead Thompsons Solicitors new campaign called Patients Before Profits to close the legal loophole that allowed the private health company Spire to evade its responsibilities to the women.
