Career

Laurie undertakes work on high value and complex claims and is currently involved in a number of high-profile cases. Laurie has excellent technical knowledge and handles a wide variety of claims against Police Forces, including misfeasance, malicious prosecution, false imprisonment, assault and breaches of Human Rights Act claims. Laurie has an excellent record of successfully defending claims at trial or securing discontinuances, strike outs and summary judgments for his clients.

Laurie assisted in the Hillsborough Inquests on behalf of Operation Resolve and he is also instructed to represent the interests of a number of police officers in respect of the Undercover Policing Inquiry. He continues to handle highly sensitive Articles 2, 3 and 4 Human Rights claims and claims involving catastrophic brain injuries with multi-million-pound reserves.
