Career

John Flaherty is a partner specialising in all aspects of shipping, transport and international trade litigation.

He has wide experience of charterparty, bill of lading and marine insurance disputes, acting on behalf of owners, charterers and insurers in both arbitration and High Court proceedings.

John has also dealt with various disputes concerning ship sales and purchases, and maritime joint ventures.

His expertise extends to advising on the carriage of goods by road and he acts for one of the world's largest parcel carriers in relation to various transport and trade-related matters.

He is a member of the British Maritime Law Association and a supporting member of the London Maritime Arbitrators Association.
