Duncan is a capital markets partner at Freshfields and co-chair of the firm’s corporate treasury group. He has wide experience involving both emerged and emerging markets transactions. Duncan advises financial institutions and issuers in relation to new issuances of debt and equity linked products, and in relation to liability management exercises. Duncan works across the credit spectrum from investment grade to non-investment grade and is particularly active in Western Europe, CEE/CIS and Africa. Recent experience includes acting for underwriters and issuers on standalone debt issuances, programme establishments, programme updates and drawdowns, acting on exchange offers, consent solicitations and tender offers.

Duncan also leads the firm’s finance related pro bono practice and is a mentor on the Stephen Lawrence scholarship programme.
