Partner & Practice Head, Avi Freeman heads our firm’s electronics, physics and mechanical engineering team. Avi has a wealth of expertise in patent protection for clients active in computer hardware and software, spanning work for well-established market leaders and start-ups alike. He also advises on unregistered design protection and files and prosecutes applications for registered designs. Avi is skilled at drafting, filing and prosecuting cases at the EPO and at the UKIPO for global corporations and also has a large caseload before overseas patent offices, particularly the USPTO

Avi travels widely to the US, Asia and the Middle East, speaking and presenting on matters of European law and the field of computer-implemented inventions. He is also regularly called upon to provide comment on intellectual property and patent news in the leading intellectual property journals such as WIPR. Avi’s position as a thought leader in this field is further underlined by the fact that he is often called upon by new clients to takeover troublesome cases that previous attorneys have failed to resolve.
