Career

Adrian is a Partner in our Corporate Finance Team and leads Birketts’ Corporate Services division. He was admitted as a Solicitor in September 1989 and previously worked in other major UK and international law firms prior to joining Birketts.

Adrian specialises in corporate law, including advising on acquisitions and disposals, private equity, venture capital, reorganisations and restructurings. Adrian also advises on governance and corporate constitutional issues and is regularly consulted by clients on longer-term strategic issues as well as transactions. He has considerable experience of acting for large corporates, private companies and owner-managed businesses, private equity funds and high net worth individuals in relation to a wide variety of corporate and commercial matters, and frequently in relation to high-value, complex and international transactions, acting for buyers, sellers and funders.

Adrian’s experience covers a broad range of sectors, including technology, business services, energy, transport and distribution, and the food and beverage sector. Having been with Birketts since 2004, Adrian is also the client relationship manager for a number of the firm’s key clients and contacts and is vastly experienced in nurturing relationships to ensure the long-term interests of clients are at the forefront of client service.

As Head of the Corporate Services Division, Adrian has overall responsibility for the services provided by Birketts’ teams specialising in Corporate Finance, Commercial and Technology, Banking and Finance, Employee Incentives, Insurance, Corporate Tax and Charities. This also extends to the Firm’s services in Employment, including Immigration and Investigations.

Adrian has been a member of the Firm’s Partnership Board since 2014. He has also held a number of non-executive roles and is currently a Governor at Ipswich School.
