Practice Areas
Peita is a partner in our London office whose practice focuses on advising high-value multinational companies, financial institutions and private equity funds on the full spectrum of tax matters.
Peitas considerable experience includes advising clients on major transactions, including major public and private mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures, debt and equity capital markets, and banking and finance matters. He also has a strong track-record of advising on domestic and cross-border restructurings, having devised and implemented complex structures in this area for many well-known multinational corporates.
While his practice spans multiple industries, Peita has particular experience in the real estate sector, where he has advised on numerous major real estate finance transactions, acquisitions and disposals, and the healthcare and pharmaceuticals sectors. He is noted for his deep insight into stamp tax matters and has helped major corporations, banks and funds develop sophisticated, stamp tax-efficient structures.
Peitas practice is global in nature. In recent years, he has been increasingly involved in high-value cross-border transactional and advisory work in emerging markets, where his deep knowledge of UK tax law has enabled him to advise on the development of local tax policy. In late 2014, Peita was called upon to advise HM Treasury on the UK governments proposal for a new UK withholding tax exemption for interest payments on privately placed debt.
