Lemi is a partner in Shoosmiths Corporate Restructuring and Advisory team. Lemi has experience of both contentious and non-contentious aspects of restructuring and corporate insolvency. He specialises in board advisory and transactional matters, including advice on restructuring, turnaround and directors' duties, security reviews and enhancement, and distressed business sales, together with all aspects of formal insolvency procedures, such as administrations, liquidations and receiverships. Lemi also has extensive experience in acting for lenders in situations involving borrower under-performance, together with experience in advising corporate clients, private equity providers and insolvency practitioners. He has spent time on secondment in the distressed lending teams of two major clearing banks.
Recent experience has involved advising directors of a number of retailers in connection with directors' duties in the context of financial difficulty; leading a divestment programme for a prominent US private equity investor, completing portfolio disposals of NPL assets with a value of circa ?500 million; acting for KPMG as administrators of a major construction group; and providing advice to a syndicate of banks on the insolvency and subsequent disposal of a major online retailer.
